What is virtual physical therapy?
Virtual physical therapy is physical therapy delivered through telehealth instead of an in-person clinic visit. A licensed physical therapist evaluates your condition, builds a personalized care plan, and guides you through video sessions from home. Between sessions, Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) tracks your progress so your therapist can keep your plan on track.
How POD Health supports virtual physical therapy & RTM
POD Health brings a full range of services together in one coordinated program, all covered by Medicare for eligible members across New York State.
Licensed virtual physical therapy providers
A licensed physical therapist gets to know your condition and builds a care plan around your goals, all through telehealth. Sessions may include strength, balance, and mobility training.
A home exercise program
Between visits, you’ll follow a personalized home exercise program designed to reinforce the progress you make in each session.
Remote Therapeutic Monitoring
Through the ChronicCareIQ app, your therapist stays connected to your mobility changes and exercise progress, so nothing gets missed between scheduled visits.
Personalized care plan
Your care plan is tailored to you, whether you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, rebuilding strength, improving balance, or managing a chronic condition.
Scheduled virtual therapy sessions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does virtual physical therapy work?
It starts with an evaluation, where your therapist reviews your condition and goals, and builds a personalized care plan. From there, you attend telehealth sessions on a schedule that fits your needs, while Remote Therapeutic Monitoring keeps your therapist informed of how you’re doing between visits. Together, they give your care team a complete view of your progress. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, working on balance, or simply staying active and steady on your feet, that’s how POD Health keeps you moving forward.
Does Medicare cover physical therapy?
What is Remote Therapeutic Monitoring?
Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) is a Medicare-covered service that lets your physical therapist track how you’re responding to therapy between visits, such as your pain levels and exercise progress. It helps your therapist catch setbacks early and adjust your care plan without waiting for your next session.
Is Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) covered by Medicare?
What is the difference between Remote Patient Monitoring and Remote Therapeutic Monitoring?
Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) tracks physiologic data such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight. Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) tracks therapy-related measures such as exercise adherence and mobility progress. The two programs serve different purposes and can run alongside each other depending on your care plan. Both are covered by Medicare for eligible members. The POD Health team can help you find the right services and check your eligibility at no cost.

What our patients are saying
I didn’t even know I was missing benefits until Pod called. They helped me get set up with the right support and got my paperwork sorted. I didn’t have to do a thing. They really looked out for me.
Angela T., (Age 72)

I was trying to help my mom get care, but it was so confusing. Pod walked me through everything in plain English and followed up until she had services at home. I honestly don’t know what we would’ve done without them.

Hablaron mi idioma, me ayudaron con los formularios y me llamaron cuando dijeron que lo harían. Eso importa.
